Build a self-care plan you'll still be following in month three

Most self-care plans fail because they're written on a good day for a person who doesn't exist. Pick what's actually hard right now and how much time you really have — you'll get a weekly template sized to your worst week, free, no account needed.

1. What's hardest right now?

Pick up to three. Three is already ambitious.

2. How much time do you have on a bad day?

Why most self-care plans don't survive

They're built for your best week

If it only works when you're rested and free, it doesn't work. Size everything to a bad Tuesday.

Too many things at once

Five new habits compete with each other. Two or three hold.

No fixed time

An action without a slot is a hope. Attach it to something that already happens.

Nobody notices when it slips

Accountability is the difference between week two and month three — a friend, a group, or a coach.

Common questions

What should a self-care plan actually include?
A workable plan names two or three areas you're struggling with, one or two small actions per area, a fixed time they happen, and a weekly check-in. Anything longer than that is a wish list — it collapses the first bad week.
How do I write a self-care plan that I'll stick to?
Size it to your worst week, not your best one. If ten minutes is all you have on a bad Tuesday, build the plan around ten minutes. Attach each action to something that already happens — after coffee, before bed — so you're not relying on remembering.
How many things should be on it?
Three to five actions total. People who pick two areas and stay with them for a month get further than people who redesign their whole life on a Sunday night.
Is this a substitute for therapy?
No. A self-care plan is a daily-habits tool. If you're dealing with a mental health condition, work with a licensed clinician. Coaches on Fresh Chapter help you build and hold the plan; they don't treat or diagnose.
Is the builder free?
Yes. Build the plan, print it or download it, and use it without an account. Getting matched with a coach who keeps you accountable is also free — you only pay if you book sessions.
