FCFresh Chapter

Family caregiving

You became the carer overnight. Nobody handed you a plan.

Caring for a parent or partner is a second job with no handover notes. A Fresh Chapter coach helps you organise the care, split it fairly with siblings, and keep a life that is still recognisably yours.

Every coach is identity-checked and credential-screened before they take a client.

What people bring to these sessions

  • Coordinating appointments, medication and paperwork without dropping things
  • Siblings who help less and criticise more
  • Anticipatory grief while the person is still here
  • Guilt about resenting any of it
  • Working full time and caring at the same time
  • Knowing when care needs are beyond what you can safely give

Coaching is practical and forward-looking — it is not therapy and it is not medical, legal or financial advice. Life and expat coaching is not regulated the same way. Coaches can work with you across borders by video call because they focus on goals, transitions and daily adjustments — never on diagnosing or treating a mental health condition.

What the first month looks like

  1. Step 1

Week 1 — one shared record of care tasks, dates and medications

  2. Step 2

Week 2 — a family conversation, scripted, about who does what

  3. Step 3

Week 3 — respite built into the week and actually taken

  4. Step 4

Week 4 — a plan for the next escalation, before it happens

Common questions

Can a coach advise on medical or care decisions?
No. Coaches do not give medical, legal or financial advice. They help you prepare for those conversations, ask better questions and follow through on what is decided.
I have no time. How does this fit?
Most caregivers book one short session a fortnight and use messaging in between. The point is to remove work from your week, not add to it.
Can siblings in other countries join?
Yes. Sessions run over secure video and coaches work across time zones — the platform shows every time in each person's local time.
