FCFresh Chapter

New parents

New baby, no instructions, and everyone has an opinion.

The first year rearranges your sleep, your relationship and your sense of self. A Fresh Chapter coach gives you a steady weekly conversation about the parts nobody posts about: the load at home, the return to work, and who you are now.

Every coach is identity-checked and credential-screened before they take a client.

What people bring to these sessions

  • Sleep deprivation and a routine that keeps collapsing
  • The invisible load, and dividing it without a weekly argument
  • Feeling like a different person than you were a year ago
  • Returning to work, childcare guilt and the logistics
  • Advice from family you did not ask for
  • Reconnecting with a partner who is also running on empty

Coaching is practical and forward-looking — it is not therapy and it is not medical, legal or financial advice. Life and expat coaching is not regulated the same way. Coaches can work with you across borders by video call because they focus on goals, transitions and daily adjustments — never on diagnosing or treating a mental health condition.

What the first month looks like

  1. Step 1

Week 1 — a survival baseline for sleep, food and help

  2. Step 2

Week 2 — the household load written down and split honestly

  3. Step 3

Week 3 — one hour a week that belongs to you, protected

  4. Step 4

Week 4 — a return-to-work or childcare plan on paper

Common questions

Is this the same as a postnatal doula or health visitor?
No. A doula or health visitor supports feeding, physical recovery and infant care. Coaching works on you: routine, identity, the split at home and the decisions in front of you.
What about postnatal depression?
Coaching does not treat it. If what you describe sounds clinical, your coach will say so and signpost you to your health service or a licensed clinician — quickly, and without making it awkward.
Can both partners join sessions?
Yes. Many coaches run joint sessions; ask before you book and it will be arranged.
